We are excited to obtain funding for two new research projects in the most recent round of the GACR competition. Dr Ivan Rehor will join our group with a Junior Research Project on soft robotics using stimuli-responsive polymers, and prof. Stepanek has obtained funding for a Standard Project on the Intensification of reaction-diffusion processes with magnetic nano-stirrers.

Four new PhD students have joined the Chobotix group with the start of the academic year: Tereza Boleslavská – Development of advanced bio-relevant dissolution methods, Jiří Kolář – Mathematical modelling of pharmaceutical unit operations, Petra Janská – Interaction of microparticles with biological substrates, and Ondřej Kareš – Remotely controlled formation of gases and microbubbles. Many congratulations to David Smrčka for winning 2nd place at the Best Poster Award competition (most pharmaceutically relevant poster category, sponsored by GSK) at the 2017 International Granulation Workshop in Sheffield. With over 120 poster presentations in total, it was not easy to stand out. Well done!
