11 November 2025Many congratulations to Chobotix PhD students Adéla Brejchová and Eva Králová for a research paper “Evaluation of in vitro bioactivity profile of bee propolis extracts delivered by yeast glucan particles” published in the Journal of Drug Delivery Science and Technology. The work describes a novel formulation approach for the bioavailability and bioactivity enhancement of bee propolis thanks to encapsulation in whole yeast beta glucan particles that act as drug carriers. The ability to enhance dissolution rate thanks to amorphisation, coupled with the immunoactive properties of beta glucans, has contributed to significant bioactivity enhancement compared to raw propolis, paving the way towards therapeutic application of this natural poly-active.
